A group of statewide business and community leaders, education advocates, educators and parents will announce the launch of the Empower Nevada's Future petition to put pressure on lawmakers to address the state’s chronic failure to adequately fund its schools.
The petition will launch statewide and focus on the need for legislators to fund students at the national average by pursuing stable diversified revenue opportunities.
Members of the group will also release an analysis of the impact of adopting the new K-12 funding formula (Pupil Centered Funding Plan) without plans for additional revenue.
